Pakistan High Commissioner to India Salman Bashir presented the cheques of the donation amount to the Dargah Committee, a government-appointed body for management of the 13th-century shrine, and two Anjuman committees of Khadims (clerics) here yesterday.
Anjuman Saiyad Zadgan and Anjuman Shekh Zadgan got Rs. 3 crore and Rs. 1 crore respectively while the share of Dargah committee is Rs. 1.47 crore.
Notwithstanding the rivalry between the bodies of the Khadims and the Dargah committee, receivers of the donation have promised to utilize the money for different developmental projects and welfare activities.
The bodies of Khadims were against involvement of the Dargah committee in share of the money but the matter was resolved prior to the function yesterday.
"The share was decided with the consent of all the three parties at a closed-door meeting between the members of the delegation from the Pakistan High Commission and the representatives of the bodies yesterday," sources said today.
"The money will be used for developmental work like maintenance of guest houses, developing facilities for Zayrines (pilgrims), help for widows and for education of under-priviledged children and needy people," Wahid Hussain Chisti, Secretary of Anjuman Saiyad Zadgan, told PTI today.
"We have promised the Pakistan High Commission that the money will be well utilised in welfare activies we undertake," he said. (MORE)
