A Municipal Council clerk in Madhya Pradesh was on Saturday arrested by Lokayukta police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000, officials said.
"Following a complaint from one Vijay Lakhera, a team of Lokayukta (Jabalpur division) trapped Ramnandan Singh Baghel, a clerk with Seoni Municipal Council, and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe," Lokayukta (Jabalpur) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dilip Jharwade said.
Baghel was caught taking bribe near the Council's office this afternoon, he said.
Baghel was arrested and a case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered, the official added.

The complaint to the Lokayukta Police states that the clerk was asking a bribe of Rs 4,000 for issuing a permit document to construct a building.
Baghel was arrested and a case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered, the official added.
