Pointing towards necessity of a barrage in Nepal to put effective check on floods in UP, Yadav said "this is a national issue and the UP government had written a letter to the Union government in this regard."
He criticised the centre for not cooperating in tackling flood menace in UP.
"The Central teams carried out a survey last year but relief is yet to reach the state. We will make fresh survey and call on the Union government demanding relief," he said.
He held a meeting with UP relief commissioner, DM, SP, irrigation, PWD, health and other department officials and reviewed the flood situation.
He instructed DM Lal Bahadur Pandey to extend all relief to flood-hit people and warned of action in case of laxity in this regard by any official.
