Cloudy day with sunny spells in national capital

It was a sunny and cloudy day in patches in the national capital with the mercury hovering around 42 degrees Celsius in some parts of the city.
The local MeT office has forecast overcast conditions, rains and thunderstorm accompanied by a thunder squall in Delhi and adjoining areas from tomorrow till May 22.
The Safdarjung observatory, recording of which is considered official, registered a maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar observatories recorded maximum temperatures of 42.2, 41.7, 42.3 and 41.2 degrees Celsius respectively, a MeT Department official said.

The minimum temperature settled at 27.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, the official said.
The humidity level oscillated between 72 and 27 per cent.
"Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 40 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
