It was sunny and cloudy in patches today in the national capital with the mercury hovering below the 40-degree mark even as high humidity levels caused discomfort to residents.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose reading is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature for the day at 38.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. The minimum temperature settled at 30.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, a MeT department official said.
The humidity level oscillated between 73 and 48 per cent.
The MeT predicted partly overcast conditions along with light rains for tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain and thundershowers is likely to occur in the evening and night tomorrow.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 39 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius while the minimum settled at 26 degrees Celsius.
