CM approves setting up ITI in R K Nagar constituency

: A day after according administrative sanction for setting up an Arts and Science College in her Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar constituency, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today approved setting up an ITI in the Assembly segment.
The Chief Minister has approved a sum of Rs 7.06 crore towards various purposes under this initiative, including filling up teaching and non-teaching vacancies, a government release here said.
Presently, there are 77 state-run ITIs in the state with over 29,000 students undergoing training in various engineering and non-engineering courses, it said, adding 15 new such institutes had been added in the last four years.
Such initiatives would enable the government meet its target of creating skilled human resources under the Chief Minister's Vision 2023 programme, it added.
