CM dedicates Infopark's Phase II campus to the state

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today dedicated Infopark's Phase II campus to the state, saying the government is committed to bringing in more investments for creating job opportunities for the youth.
"The government will give more thrust to projects which are capable of utilising the full potential of the state's resources both in terms of infrastructure and manpower," Chandy said.
Minister for IT and Industries P K Kunhalikutty said Infopark and the private IT companies here have emerged as one of the biggest employment generators of the state.
"The government is ready to provide all support to the development of IT parks," he said.

Principal Secretary for IT and Industries P H Kurian said Phase II project would be completed by 2020 and around 80,000 employment opportunities would be created by then.
Over one million IT work space with futuristic amenities would be opened for business by the end of 2015 with the completion of Infopark's own 4 lakh sqft IT building and Cognizant's Phase I building of 1.3 million sqft.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to create eight million sqft world-class IT space.
For development of the Rs 2,500-crore Phase II project, Infopark has joined hands with several global IT companies and infrastructure developers like Cognizant Technologies, UST Global, Trans Asia, Muthoot Group, Media Systems, Claysys Technologies, Caspian Techparks and Padiyath Innovation.

Around 60 per cent of the land in the second phase has been leased out successfully to IT/ITeS companies and co-developers. The Phase II is spread across 160 acres of land, of which Infopark has leased out 125 acres till now.
Of this, 102 acres is notified as IT Special Economic Zone.
