Expressing his happiness Siddaramaiah said "this news makes me proud first as Kannadiga, then as Chief Minister of the state, also as a fellow Mysurian", a government release quoting him said.
This will add much glitters to this years Dasara celebrations in Mysuru, he said.
Along with Mysuru, three more places - Hassan fifth place, Mandya sixth place and Bengaluru seventh place - from the state have made it to the list of top 10.
Siddaramaiah has also commended the efforts of civic bodies, "Pourakarmikas" (municipal sweepers) and also cooperation from citizens for achieving the rankings.
He said with this credit also comes the responsibility of maintaining it, which will require cooperation from every one.
Siddaramaiah said by 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, everybody should strive to make entire Karnataka clean.
