Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today interacted with students of six Zilla Parishad schools in the state through video conference on their first day of school.
The government schools in the state are undergoing a complete makeover in terms of infrastructure and teaching approach, and the concept of digital classroom will be soon taken to the remotest regions, he told reporters here later.
"Before interacting with students from various regions of the state through video conference, I visited a couple of ZP schools and found that the students are more responsive, knowledgeable and aware of the importance of cleanliness," he said.
"Our government is trying to bring in an interactive education system through digital schools project and trying to change the teaching approach. During my interaction with these schools, I can see the change is happening," he said.
"More than 11,000 schools in the state have undergone a make-over and turned into digital schools. We are sure that we will include all the schools in far-flung regions in this initiative soon.
"During my interaction with school administration and parents, I learnt that many parents have cancelled their childrens' admission at private English medium schools and enrolled them in ZP schools," the CM claimed.
"During my visit to a ZP school I also got an opportunity to teach a chapter to std I students. I realised that teaching is not an easy thing," he said in a lighter vein.
He appreciated the efforts of teachers and officials from education department for bringing a change in the present education system.
