Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed Chief Secretary M M Kutty to make an inspection at Delhi government-run Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, a day after he visited it and found "several deficiencies" there.
Sources said the direction to the Kutty comes as the chief minister was "unhappy" with the Action Taken Report (ATR) following his surprise visit to the hospital.
"An ATR was prepared by the officials concerned. The ATR, based on the inspection report, was submitted to the chief minister. However, he was unhappy with the report and directed the chief secretary to conduct an inspection at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital," they said.
Kejriwal directed the chief secretary to submit a detailed report on the problems and their solutions by Wednesday, sources said.
The Delhi chief minister yesterday paid a surprise visit to the city-run Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri and expressed "displeasure" over the functioning of the hospital and warned of action against officials.
The Delhi government has also decided to appoint a new medical superintendent at the hospital after Kejriwal found that it had failed to comply with his direction to provide free medicines and diagnostic test facilities.
The hospital currently has an acting medical superintendent, according to officials.
