CM lays foundation stone for Rs 10 cr drinking water scheme
Press Trust of India Puducherry Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today said massive drinking water projects would be implemented in the union territory in a phased manner to ensure residents did not face difficulty in getting potable water.
Laying the foundation stone for the Rs 10.04 cr drinking water project at suburban Oulgaret, he said the government spared no efforts to meet the basic requirements of the people in urban, semi urban and rural areas.
Rangasamy said the PWD had drawn up plans to construct a overhead tank through which 20 lakh litres water would be supplied daily to various housing blocks in Oulgaret and its neighbouring pockets.
"The government is keen to ensure that basic amenities including water were available without hiccups", he said.
