He took the decision on a report by a three-member committee which looked into the alleged irregularities, corruption and laxity in widening and construction of Hanumangarh-Suratgarh road stretch in the state, an official said.
"The committee found that there were grave irregularities and laxity by the engineers in performing duty that led to a loss of Rs 13. 38 crore to the state government. The material used in construction of the road was also below standard," he said.
The chief minister has directed the department to suspend Project Director, Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (Bikaner Unit-I), Rajendra Mathur, and Executive Engineer of headquarters P S Agrawal besides seven assistant engineers - Sanah Golwal, RR Soni, MG Srimali, LC Yadav, DK Saharan, Harneet Singh and Rajesh Goyal.
