Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today performed bhoomi-pujan for Jain Farm Fresh-Hindustan Coca Cola's 'orange elevation project' at village Thuni in Morshi tehsil of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis assured farmers of uninterrupted power supply for 12 hours during the day and said the government will install solar transformers for the purpose.
"Along with completing the unfinished irrigation projects in the state, the government is also making efforts to provide 12 hours' uninterrupted power supply during day time to the farmers. Having given them solar pumps, the government is now making efforts to provide solar transformers so that energy needs of the farmers could be fulfilled," he said.
Stating that MoU of the project was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Make In India week, Fadnavis said that by performing the bhoomi-pujan of the Morshi project his government had fulfilled its promise.
Government had decided to put emphasis on setting up agro-processing industry so that farmers could get market and good rates for their produce, he said.
Referring to the textile part at Nandgaonpeth MIDC, Fadnavis said that by starting value-added 12 textile processing units there, 15 to 20 thousand workers could get jobs.
"Apparel park will provide employment to women," he averred.
The Morshi project would be completed in next two years, he said.
