Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority, Mubarak Singh informed the Chief Minister that the major portion of the garbage has been cleared from the area and the men and machinery were on the job to make the whole area garbage free zone.
On enquiring about the progress of the work on the park, the Chief Minister was informed that it will be completed within six months and besides a walking track, the park will have a coffee-shop-cum-library and special ladies corner.
Mehbooba urged officials concerned to expedite the work so that people of Jammu can get recreational and outing facility on the banks of the river.
Singh informed the Chief Minister that Rs 75 lakh was being spent on earth-filling and landscaping of the park, including turfing, laying of flower beds and plantation.
Mehbooba deputed her Principal Secretary Navin Kumar Choudhary to Government Medical College Jammu to take stock of the directions given by her to the principal of the institute on her visit to it last week regarding cleaning and maintenance of the hospital premises.
The Chief Minister had then expressed dismay over the unattended garbage lying there.
