Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today expressed his displeasure over the appointment of too many secretaries by HP Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu saying it was not in the interest of the party and sought high command's intervention.
"Such arbitrary appointments without consulting me, minister, MLAs and senior leaders would not benefit the party and the high command should take notice of it," he told reporters here.
"I am not seeking replacement of HPCC chief but like the high command to take notice of it as about 100 Congressmen have been appointed as PCC secretaries and many of them have no political standing in their areas," he said.
The PCC chief should concentrate on strengthening the party ahead of2017 Assembly polls, he said, adding that he had spoken to PCC chief about it yesterday and expressed his displeasure.
"The matter was brought to my notice during my visit to Kullu on September 13. It was alleged that the person appointed by Sukhu had worked against the party during 2012 and local MLA or DCC was never consulted," the Chief Minister said.
"I appreciate his efforts to organise some programmes in the districts to which I extended full support but, much is needed to be done for better coordination and filling performance gaps."
Chief Minister also questioned the decision of the PCC to createfour new organisational districts by splitting Kangra into Dehra, Palampur and Nurpur districts and Mandi into two districts.
