CM urges improvement in Hyderabad city public transport system

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said here today that Hyderabad's public transport system should be improved to cope with its growing population.
According to a press release, while holding a review meeting on the ongoing metro rail project work in the city, he said the metro rail project needs to be extended since public transport requirements would remain unmet even after the project is completed.
He said that the city has grown beyond the area now covered by the metro rail project and that itsm popultion has crossed one crore, the release said.
He also suggested that the number of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the city should be increased and intelligence mechanism ought to be strengthened, the release said.
He asked city Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy to study functioning of Mumbai's CCTV camera system, the release said.
He also discussed the proposed skyscrapers and skyways in Hyderabad and sought proposals from L&T which is building the metro rail project, the release said.
