The Chief Minister made the appeal during her visit to the families of five police personnel and two Jammu and Kashmir bank guards who were killed on May 1 by militants when they were on their duty to disburse cash in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
"People, particularly civil society and youth, are appealed to rise against this dangerous trend of looting of public money by spilling innocent blood, thereby giving Kashmir a terribly bad name in the civilized world," she said.
She later visited Ujroo to condole with the families of constable Muzaffar Ahmad and JK Bank guard Javed Ahmad at Yarkipora and ASI Bashir Ahmad at Bonigam.
The Chief Minister expressed her heartfelt sympathies to the families of the slain personnel of JK Bank and Police.

"They laid their lives while preserving public money and their sacrifices won't be allowed to go waste," she said.
She assured the families of the victims that they would be duly looked after and every help and assistance would be provided to them by the government.
Later, Mehbooba visited the family of constable Ishfaq Ahmad at Batapora, Zakoora here, who was also killed in the said incident.
