Coal India gains on share buy-back plans
Press Trust of India Mumbai Coal India's scrip rose by nearly 2 per cent in intra-day trade today after the company said its board of directors will consider a proposal for buy back of equity shares on July 11.
The stock climbed 1.77 per cent to Rs 323.10 on BSE during the day. It finally ended at Rs 321.75, up 1.35 per cent.
The stock was the biggest gainer among the 30-Sensex components.
At NSE, shares of the company settled with a gain of 1.25 per cent to Rs 321.95. Intra-day, it went up 1.71 per cent to Rs 323.40.
On the volume front, 3.71 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 28 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.
Coal India today informed BSE that a meeting of the board of directors will be held on July 11 to consider a proposal for buy back of equity shares and appointment of intermediaries in accordance with all applicable laws.
