With themed-cuisine part of any city's culinary map, the 150-year rich heritage of Bikes, now pops up for reference in the region's first cafe on two-wheelers.
From Sylvester Howard Poer, invented in 1867 as the first bike, powered by coal to the macho, masculine Brando Rides of 1951, christened the The Triumph Thunderbird, the passionate bikers and their companions can get a sneak peek of the evolution of bikes in this 'auto-crazy' city, Director Sanjay Yadav told PTI.
"From the 1885's Gottilieb Daimler, the first petrol bike in the world, to the iconic Harley Davidson in 1901," you can actually feel the revving engine while tucking into the Biker's Chicken Fusion Discovery. There has to be a dedicated themed cafe for the connoisseur," the Bike collector in Delhi said.
"We all know Royal Enfield. Our biking communities everywhere are in awe of the majestic leopard which springs into action and signifies power. But do you know it first came into being in 1907. In that sense, both Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield are centuries old royals still commanding woohs and aahs as they swirl the dust on road," Yadav said.
"I had been to many biking expeditions in the country -from Ladakh to Kovalam. And in several parts of Europe. Had seen how travelling, hobbies, adventure sports are integrated with cuisine in the world. We had only dhabas where the ambience is not always that conducive. And the integral theme concept is lacking. This is the first time India too gets its own themed eating zone of city zoomers who can unwind in the bike enviornment with the elixir on youth and cardio brainlac," he said.
The gallery and models on show end with pics and references about the 1970's array of Japanese whizzers and their Indian avatars which began frequenting our roads in past two decades. From retro feel and look we shift to the yamaha era and the new gen super-bikers.
"We have a dedicated club in this city of super bikers and the membership shows how girls are equally hooked to the oh-so-mascuiline machines.
