Coast Guard jawan killed off Okha coast as gun misfires
Press Trust of India Jamnagar A Coast Guard jawan was killed when a gun he was repairing misfired on a boat off Okha coast of Devbhoomi Dwarka district today, Gujarat police said.
"K P Yadav was killed when he was repairing a heavy machine gun during practise session of Coast Guard jawans in the Arabian Sea," said the district Superintendent of Police R J Pargi.
A team of Coast Guard jawans and officials had sailed off on a fast patrol vessel 'Arinjay' for shooting practise when the incident took place, he said.
Yadav hailed from Bihar and had been in the service for 14 years.
"We called forensic science laboratory officials and sent the body for post-mortem. We will hand over the body to the Coast Guard once the post-mortem is complete," he said.
