Coast Guard rescues 7 crew member of sinking dhow

In a swift air-sea coordination, the Indian Coast Guard today rescued seven crew members from a sinking dhow off Portblair.
Vessel MSV Safina AL Ghelani, which was carrying cargo for Hutbay island gave a distress call at around 11 AM.
However, due to rough sea, the water started flooding the vessel's engine room and it started sinking.
Dhow, a wooden vessel is used to transport cargo in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago at short distance.
After receiving a distress call, the Coast Guard pressed its two ships ICGS Rajashree and C-248 and a helicopter from Port Blair.
One merchant navy Vessel was also diverted towards the distressed vessel.
Three of the rescued crew members were landed on C-248 while the other four were flown directly to Port Blair.
