The station would be declared open by Director General of Coast Guard, Vice Admiral M P Muralidharan on July 25, an official said.
The station would be administered by the Coast Guard East Region Headquarters in Chennai, he said.
The Karaikal station would be CG's fourth one after its presence in Chennai, Puducherry and Tuticorin, he said.
Coast Guard Regional Commander (East) Inspector General Satya Prakash Sharma had said earlier that the force was in the process of activating new stations and inducting new ships and aircraft as part of a major expansion and modernisation drive.
