"A depression over west central Bay of Bengal may intensify into a deep depression and is likely to move north-northwestwards initially and then recurve northeastwards towards Bangladesh coast," Regional MeT Director G K Das said.
"The system is likely to cause heavy rainfall in coastal districts of East and West Midnapore, South and North 24 Parganas and Howrah on November four and five," Das said.
Kolkata is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall till tomorrow, he said.
Kolkata has received 41.7 mm rainfall till 8.30 AM today, the MeT department said, adding cloudy conditions will prevail with one or two or two spells of rain or thundershowers in the city during the weekend.
