Prohibiting use of black films on safety glasses wind screens, the Supreme Court in its April 27 order this year, had permitted Central and state governments to grant exemption from the directive for certain categories of persons.
Following this, the state government had decided to exempt persons provided with 'Z' and 'Z-plus' category of security that include the Chief Minister, the Assembly Speaker and the Chief Justice.
The Chief Justice conveyed her wish not to be exempted from the rule, High Court sources said.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy also had earlier informed that he did not want to be exempted from the general rule.
