Web portal Cobrapost today moved a plea in the Delhi High Court challenging its single judge's order restraining the organisation from making public a documentary alleging that various media houses have indulged in unethical practices like paid news.

The appeal by the portal was mentioned before a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar which allowed it to be listed before an appropriate bench tomorrow.

The May 24 order of the single judge had come on a plea by Dainik Bhaskar Corporation Ltd seeking to restrain Cobrapost, operated by non-profit organisation Forum for Media and Literature, from releasing its documentary, titled 'Operation 136: Part II'.

Dainik Bhaskar had argued that if released, the documentary would cause irreparable loss and injury to its reputation.

The portal, however, released its documentary, but without any reference to Dainik Bhaskar.

The single judge is expected to hear the matter next on July 4.
