Jolly, in his new position would have responsibility of setting up a new function within the company, which will promote its growing portfolio of niche brands within the franchise bottling territories, Coca-Cola India said in a statement.
He will take over the new responsibility starting November 1, 2015 and will continue to report to Coca-Cola President- India & Southwest Asia Venkatesh Kini, it added.
Coca-Cola has an established portfolio of premium brands like Schweppes Tonic, Schweppes Gingerale, Schweppes Soda and would soon launch Fuze Tea.
Amjad, who has joined Coca-Cola India today, was working with Director Corporate Affairs for Cargill in Singapore prior to it. He has also served in the Indian Army and is an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
Commenting on the development Kini said: "Deepak has accepted the responsibility to lead the premium and niche segment in the franchise bottling territories. In many ways, he is returning to where he started his career from - the operations and sales role in a large FMCG company".
