This is subsequent to Coca-Cola's restructuring plans announced in February 2017, in which it had designed to transform itself into a total beverage company.
"The company has decided to consolidate lab facilities across the world and as a result, we plan to cease operations at the Pirangut, Pune lab location by December 2017," Coca- Cola India said in a statement.
Spread over 2,000 square metres, this lab was set up in 2010 to provide analytical and technical support to Coca- Cola's operations in India and South Asia as well as to Eastern Europe, southern Eurasia and the Middle East.
The company would compensate the employees working at the facility as per its policy, Coca-Cola India said.

"Some essential critical support for the Indian operations will be provided from other laboratories of the company," it added.
