Cochin Music Challengers (CMC), the celebrity cricket team of prominent playback singers of the Malayalam film industry, will soon perform for patients of the Government hospital here as part of the ongoing 'Arts and Medicine' project.
The programme at Ernakulam Government General Hospital is being organised by Kochi Biennale Foundation in association with the Mehboob Memorial Orchestra.
Prominent among singers in CMC are Vidhu Pratap, Madhu Balakrishnan and cricketer S Sreesanth, a statement said.
The CMC team members have evinced interest in performing for the patients, popular playback singer and Challengers captain Prakash Babu said.
He, along with his wife Ashita Prakash, was at the hospital to perform for the patients as part of the 'Arts and Medicine' project today.
"This noble initiative cannot be viewed just as an art gala. This is a virtuous deed," said Prakash Babu, who enthralled the audience with popular songs from Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies.
The audience, including patients, bystanders and staff were seen tapping their feet to the tunes of "Tere bine zindagi se koi" from movie Aandhi, "yeh zindagi usi ki hai" (Anarkali) and "lali lali le" (Kalimannu).
The project, launched in February this year, is being conducted with guidance from Iva Fattorini, Chair of Global Arts and Medicine Institute, Cleveland Clinic and Ernakulam district administration.
