Coconut oil prices firm up on retailer demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi In restricted activity, coconut oil prices rose by Rs 100 per tin at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to pick-up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts.
However, other edible and non-edible oils traded in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said pick-up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in coconut oil prices.
In the national capital, coconut oil moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 2,150-2,200 per tin.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal): Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.
Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,000, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,700-1,750, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,100, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,395-1,445, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,435-1,535, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,750, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,450, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 6,000, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,650, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,600 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,150-2,200.
Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,700, Castor Rs 9,900-10,000, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
