Cognizant gets deal from PetSmart

IT firm Cognizant today said it has bagged a deal from PetSmart, a specialty pet retailer in North America, for its analytics-driven solutions.
Cognizant will empower PetSmart with better decision making by integrating operational store, campaign and other data to provide a single view of the entire data landscape, it said in a statement.
No financial details were disclosed.
PetSmart employs about 53,000 associates, operates 1,466 pet stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico and has 203 in-store PetSmart PetsHotel dog and cat boarding facilities.

Tech Mahindra opens delivery centre in Cincinnati * IT firm Tech Mahindra has set up its 17th delivery centre in Cincinnati, US to primarily serve its customers with export control services within the aerospace and defence sector.

This centre is registered with the Department of Defense and would be Tech Mahindra's first ITAR capable centre in US, it said in a statement today.

The centre will primarily be leveraged to provide engineering, Big Data and analytics services to a large conglomerate in the region and also other customers in the US, it added.

Canon India appoints Subrangshu Kumar Das as Head ISDC * Japanese digital imaging company Canon has appointed Subrangshu Kumar Das as Senior Director and Head of India Systems Development Centre (ISDC) wing at its India operations.
As Senior Director Head ISDC, Das will lead the R&D division in the country, Canon said in a statement today.

Lufthansa offers 1st Class on Mum-Frankfurt route on B747-800
* German national carrier Lufthansa today said it will deploy its flagship B747-800 on the Mumbai-Frankfurt sector from Diwali, offering for the first time a First Class on board.
The 'Queen of Skies' as Boeing 747-800 is known, will offer a fewer seats lesser than (364 with first class seats) the present B747-400 which offers 371 seats in business and economy configuration.
The new service will be available from the Diwali night, the airline said, and added that it underlines the importance of Mumbai on its global network.
