Coke Studio's first season was aired only on MTV and the move to collaborate with DD1 aims at reaching wider audience.
An initiative of the Coca-Cola Company and MTV India, Coke Studio brings together diverse artists of different genres to bring alive the magic of live recordings and performances.
"People who do not have resources to tune into satellite channels its a great opportunity for them. This year, Coke Studio will see over 200 musicians from different genres come together and collaborate to create diverse and innovative music. We believe our association with Doordarshan will allow us to take the pure joy and happiness of music to a much larger audience," said Deepak Jolly, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communication Coca-Cola India and South-West Asia.
The show will consist of compositions specially created by producers like Amit Trivedi, Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, Clinton Cerejo, Shantanu Moitra, Ehsaan & Loy and Hitesh Sonik.
Coke Studio has parnered with Sony Music Entertainment, which will release songs of the second season.
