Cold day in Delhi; fog hampers train services

Cold conditions prevailed in the national capital today as the minimum temperature dipped to 5.6 degrees Celsius, while dense fog in morning hours led to the cancellation of 18 north-bound trains and delayed several others.
The minimum temperature today settled at 5.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal, a Met department official said.
At Safdarjung observatory, visibility was recorded at 400 metres at 5.30 am while the same recorded was 200 meters at 8.30 AM. It was 800 metres at 11.30 and subsequently improved to 1,800 meters at 2.30 PM.
The humidity oscillated between 100 and 41 per cent.
The Met office has forecast clear skies for tomorrow along with moderate to dense fog in morning hours.
"Tomorrow, maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 25 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, six notches above the season's average.
