Cold wave abates in Pb, Haryana

There was a let up in the cold wave conditions in several parts of Punjab and Haryana as minimum temperatures rose by several notches above normal across the two states.
Chandigarh recorded a temperature of 12.2 degree Celsius, five degrees above normal, a MeT department report said.
In Punjab, Amritsar's low settled at 7.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
The minimum temperatures in Ludhiana and Patiala were recorded at 9 and 12.7 degree Celsius respectively, an increase up to six notches above the normal.
In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala's low settled at 12 degrees, five degrees above normal.
The minimum temperatures in Hisar, Narnaul and Bhiwani were recorded at 9.8, 8 and 10.4 degree Celsius respectively.
However, Karnal's low settled at 6.2 degrees Celsius, down by two degrees below normal.
Yesterday, the maximum temperatures hovered around normal levels, between 19 and 21 degrees in several parts of Punjab and Haryana.
The MeT department has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the two states.
