The minimum temperature dipped to 1.1 degrees Celsius at Shimla which was lashed by icy winds, accompanied by sleet and rains while key tourist place Manali shivered at minus 4.5 degrees C after another spell of mild snowfall.
The region had a dry and clear day in the morning but thick clouds overcast the sky as the day advanced and maximum temperatures dropped marginally.
Keylong, Bharmaur and Kalpa in tribal areas recorded minimum temperatures at minus 12.4 degrees, minus 11.2 degrees and minus 1.5 degrees, while Dalhousie, Solan, Bhuntar and Sundernager recorded a low of 0.1 degree, 1.5 degrees, 2.0 degrees and 3.5 degrees C.
Seobagh received 15 mm of rains followed by Dalhousie 12 mm, Bajura 4 mm and Bhuntar and Jogindernagar 3 mm each.
Una was the hottest during the day with maximum temperature at 20.8 degrees C while Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded a high of 18.0 degrees C and 17.5 degrees C, followed by Dharamsala 15.4 degrees C, Nahan 15.0 degrees C, Shimla 11.4 degrees C and Kalpa 6.6 degrees C.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region during next 72 hours.
