Cold north-westerly winds, will most probably hit the state in the next 7 days, state MeT Director, A K Srivastava said, adding, "Cold wave existing in upper atmosphere is not coming down to ground level due to other pressure or unusual western disturbance."
Sriganganagar and Sikar recorded the lowest temperature of 6.8 degree Celsius last night, while elsewhere in the state the minimum temperature was within two digits.
However train services continued to get disrupted due to fog in neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Eight trains of North Western Railway were running late by 50 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes, NWR CPRO Tarun Jain said.
While Sultanpur-Ahmedabad train is running 5 hours 30 minutes late, Howrah-Sriganganagar is delayed by 4 hours 50 minutes, New Tinsukhia-Lalgarh by 3 hours 35 minutes and Howrah-Jodhpur is late by 2 hours 25 minutes, he added.
Mercury may go up in most places in the state in next 24 hours, an MeT forecast said.
