Cold wave conditions in tribal areas, higher hills in HP

Intense cold wave conditions prevailed in tribal areas and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh even as the region witnessed a dry day with minimum temperatures settling below 5 degrees Celsius at several places.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers at isolated places in lower hills and rains or snow at some places in mid and higher hills tomorrow and dry weather in mid and lower hills.
Keylong and Kalpa recorded minimum temperatures at minus 7.6 degrees Celsius and minus 1.8 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Manali 0.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 3.5 degrees Celsius, Solan 4.0 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 4.3 degrees Celsius, Shimla 4.9 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 9.5 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperatures also remained below normal and Sundernagar was hottest with a high of 24.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 23.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 22.7 degrees Celsius, Solan 22.1 degrees Celsius, Shimla 17.3 degrees Celsius and Dharamshala 16.2 degrees Celsius.
Kangra and surrounding areas received light rainfall while strong winds lashed higher hills causing marginal drop in mercury.
