With northerly icy winds sweeping across the state, mercury further dipped by one to three degrees Celsius at most places since yesterday, an MeT official said today.
Dense fog in north eastern regions of Rajasthan covering Alwar, Bharatpur, Behror, Dholpur, Sikar, Churu, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh affected normal life and vehicular traffic on highways.
Light rains recorded at 5.8 mm and 0.2 mm in Rawatbhatta and Kota respectively aggravated the cold conditions, the official said.
Jammu Tawi-Ajmer Express is running late by 4 hours, followed by Allahabad-Jaipur train delayed by 2 hours 50 minutes and Varanasi-Jodhpur by 2 hours 30 minutes, he said.

The timing of Jaipur-Allahabad train and Ajmer-Jammu Tawai Express have been rescheduled, Jain added.
Except for Kota which recorded a minimum temperature of 11.6 degrees Celsius, elsewhere mercury ranged from five to 10.6 degrees Celsius last night, the MeT official said.
The minimum temperature in Pilani was 6.7 degrees Celsius, Udaipur 7.4 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar 7.5 degrees Celsius, Ajmer 7.6 degrees Celsius, Tonk 7.7 degrees Celsius, and Chittorgarh 8.1 degrees Celsius.
Chilly weather conditions would continue in the state for next 24 hours with all possibility of fog in the morning in northern parts of the state, an MeT forecast said.
