Cold wave continues in Rajasthan

Cold weather conditions continued to prevail in Rajasthan today with dense fog affecting train movement in the region.
According to a MeT department spokesperson, state's hill station Mount Abu recorded the second lowest of 1 degrees Celsius followed by Phalodi at 0.5 degrees Celsius, where minimum temperature was below freezing point.
Minimum temperature of 1.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Sriganganagar, 2 degrees Celsius in Bikaner and Churu, 4.3 degrees Celsius in Pilani, 4.5 degrees Celsius in Sikar, 5.8 degrees Celsius in Bhilwara, 6.0 degrees Celsius in Eranpura road, 6.1 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 7.0 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 7.4 degrees Celsius in Dabok-Udaipur, 7.5 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh, 7.6 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 8.2 degrees Celsius in Swai Madhopur and 8.7 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur respectively.
Visibility dropped to 50 meters in Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Sikar, Pilani, Jaisalmer, Alwar, Kota due to dense fog.
On the other hand, heavy fog affected train movement in North-Western region.
Departure of Ajmer-Sealdah Express was changed and nine trains were running delayed by 1 hour 10 minutes to maximum of 16 hours 20 minutes.
According to a railway spokesperson, Howrah-Sriganganagar is running late by 16 hours 20 minutes followed by Okha-Jaipur by 9 hours 20 minutes, Howrah-Jodhpur by 7 hours 30 minutes, Gorakhpur-Hisar by 6 hours 10 minutes respectively.
