Cold wave continues unabated in mid, higher hills in HP

Biting cold wave conditions continued unabated in higher hills and tribal areas in Himachal Pradesh today even as mercury rose marginally and foothills of the state had some relief from the cold.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the state over next six days but rains or slow at isolated places on February 15 and from February 17 onwards as another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from February 14 night onwards.
The maximum temperatures rose marginally and Una in Shivalik foothills recorded a high of 26.2 degrees Celsius while Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperature at 22.8 degrees and 21.6 degrees, followed by Nahan 19.4 degree, Solan19.2 degrees, Dharmshala 16.6 degrees, Shimla 15.4 degrees and Kalpa 6.0 degree C.
There was marginal improvement in minimum temperatures and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 10.6 degree and minus 3.6 degree, while Manali shivered at zero degrees.
Bhuntar recorded minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees, followed by Solan at 3.7 degrees, Sundernagar 4.6 degrees, Shimla 4.8 degrees, Palampur 5.5 degrees, Una 6.0 degrees, Nahan 8.3 degrees and Dharamsala at 8.8 degrees Celsius.
