The Union Territory of Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, braved cold conditions at a minimum of 7.7 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, MeT department official said.
Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their respective minimums at 5.1, 7 and 7.6 degrees Celsius respectively, up to one notches above normal.
In Haryana, Ambala's low was 10.4 degree Celsius, three degrees above normal while Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal experienced cold weather conditions at 8.2, 5 and 6 degrees Celsius respectively, up to three notches below normal.
The MeT department in its forecast said weather will remain dry in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow.
