Cold weather conditions continued to prevail at most places in Punjab and Haryana on Monday, with minimum temperatures settling a few notches below the normal limits, the MeT department said.
Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place in the two states at a low of 5 degrees Celsius. Hisar recorded a minimum of 5.8 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological department official said here.
Rohtak (6.8), Sirsa (6.8), Ambala (8.7) and Bhiwani (8.7) also experienced a cold night.
In Punjab, piercing chill swept Bathinda, which recorded a low of 5.7 degrees Celsius while Amritsar recorded a low of 7 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Pathankot settled at 8.2 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar (7), Adampur (8.2 ), Patiala (8.7) experienced a cold night while Ludhiana registered a low of 10 degrees Celsius, which was within the normal limits.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, registered a low of 9.8 degrees Celsius, also within the normal limits.
