"We registered FIR against the contractor of buildings, (apart from) engineers, officials and employees concerned of VUDA under sections 304, 308 and 114 of IPC," said Police Inspector Bhanupratap Parmar.
The FIR was filed by the Gujarat government.
While section 304 specifies punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, section 308 with the attempt to commit culpable homicide and section 114 on the presence of abettor when the offence is committed.
Eleven people lost their life when the two 11-year-old three-storey buildings caved in in Madhavnagar locality of Atladara area in the wee hours yesterday.

Gujarat government-promoted Vadodara Development Authority (VUDA) had constructed the buildings under a housing scheme for economically weaker sections.
Residents of the colony where the blocks were located had blamed poor quality of the construction for the incident.
According to residents, they had complained to VUDA about many cracks developed on the walls of the buildings but the authorities concerned failed to act.
