'Collectors will ensure availability of aid to build toilets'

: Lt Governor Kiran Bedi has said that households not having toilets in their premises or under community toilet scheme can approach district authorities in Puducherry and Karaikal for financial aid to construct them.
In a release here, she said the media should also play a constructive role in spreading the message that people without toilets in their homes shouldconstruct them and in case if they have not done so, should use community toilets in the neighbourhood.
There should be no open defecation and the vision of clean and healthy Puducherry should be achieved, she said.
Bedi urged those not having the facilities at homes to approach Collectors of Puducherry and Karaikal as the case may be for financial assistance.

Residents in Mahe and Yanam regions should approach their respective regional administrators who would ensure that the assistance was available for construction of toilets, she said.
