College principal receives extortion call

The principal of a college in Shamli district allegedly received an extortion call from an unidentified person, who threatened to kill him if he did not pay Rs 10 lakh, police said today.
Ajay Aggarwal claimed the caller demanded Rs 10 lakh from him and warned of dire consequences if he failed to pay the money, SHO R B Singh said, adding a case has been registered in this connection.
