The Vartak Nagar police told PTI that local college professor Deepak Borse had lodged a police complaint in connection with a property dispute.
The Vartak Nagar police took cognisance of the complaint and took those named in his complaint into custody to enquire into the case.
However, even when the police were enquiring into the complaint, Borse reached the police station late today evening in a depressed state, pulled out the bottle of poison, consumed it and attempted to end his life.
Meanwhile, the Vartak Nagar police registered a case of attempted suicide against the professor and further probe is on.
