College student climbs 120 ft tower; threatens suicide

: Seeking fulfilment of his demands, a government college student climbed a 120 foot cellphone tower at nearby Aranganur and threatened to commit jump off it if they were not met, police said
His demands were to include Aranganur panchayat in Omalur or Mecheri taluks and provision of proper drinking water facility in the area.
Mettur Assistant Collector Anesh Sekar and other officials talked to the student and agreed to forward his demands to the District Collector.
The 14 hour drama ended after their assurance, police said, adding, the student would be booked under section 309 of IPC for his suicide attempt.
