A final year BCom student who was on run for allegedly beating to death his junior when the latter objected to him eve-teasing a girl student at their college, was arrested from Kachiguda railway station here, police said today.
"Satish K (22) who was on the run since Saturday after allegedly beating to death his junior Harshavardhan Rao (19), a 2nd year B Com student, was arrested from Kachiguda railway station here this morning," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sultan Bazar division) Ravula Giridhar told PTI.
"The accused has confessed to the crime and expressed sorry for his action," he said.
Satish was produced before a local court which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.
The incident happened on Saturday when Rao objected to eve-teasing of his classmate by Satish, following which a scuffle broke out between the two in the classroom.
Satish allegedly delivered blows twice on Rao's neck and chest after which the latter fell on the bench and hit his head on an iron rod on the edge of the bench, police said.

"Rao became unconscious and was shifted to a nearby hospital where he died while undergoing treatment," they said.
A murder case has been registered against Satish at Sultan Bazar police station, police said.
Mild tension had prevailed on the college premises yesterday as a group of students, relatives of the deceased boy and local residents raised slogans and barged into the college to protest against the incident.
The protesters had forced open gates of the college and damaged windshields of two cars parked nearby.
