Stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava has lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara Police against an unknown impostor for circulating derogatory posts against politicians with his picture on social media, police said today.
In one such post, Srivastava's photo is used with a message taking a dig at BJP president Amit Shah over business dealings of his son Jay Shah.
Srivastava stated that the posts are "offencive, false, and frivolous in nature".
"It (circulation of messages) has been done with an intention to defame and injure my character and reputation," he said.
The comedian said the impostor is well aware that such posts with his photograph will gain attention on various social media platforms.
"We received the application from Raju Srivastava about the offencive social media post yesterday. The probe into the matter is underway," said Oshiwara police station Senior Inspector Subhash Khanvilkar.
