Cosplay is a practice where comic fans dress up as their favourite characters from the world of pop culture - comics, television, films or video games.
According to the organisers, the 'Indian Championships of Cosplay' seeks to encourage local cosplayers to go professional while providing them an international platform as well.
The event will see the best cosplayers from across the country battle it out, with the grand prize winners of Cosplay contest of Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai Comic Cons 2016 competing against each other.
"Comic Con India has been at the forefront of promoting and fostering the cosplay eco-system in the country and with this initiative we take it a step ahead. I wish all the finalists the very best and may the best cosplayer win!" Jatin Varma, Founder, Comic Con India, said.
