Members from private sector include Naushad Forbes (Co- Chairman, Forbes Marshall Group; President, CII); Anil Wali (MD, FITT, IIT Delhi); Gopichand Katragadda of TATA Sons; Kris Gopalakrishnan (Executive VC, Infosys); Nikolai Dobberstein of AT Kearney Ltd and Rajeev Srinivasan (Adjunct Faculty, Innovation IIM-B).
Besides, a representative is there from the Department of Science and Technology and the convenor of the task force is Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).
India's ranking in GII-2016 jumped 15 places to 66th.

The task force will submit its report to the DIPP in two months.
The terms of reference of the task force is to examine the challenges before India in GII 2016 and identify areas where India needs to improve.
It would also examine the ideas received from public on the best way forward in inculcating a temperament of innovation in the country.
